About Stout Roofing
Our History
Stout Roofing was founded in 1998 in St. George, Utah, and is now proudly operated by a family of third-generation roofers. Roofing is in our blood—passed down from grandfather to father to sons. We grew up on rooftops, learning the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and doing things right the first time. That tradition of quality and integrity continues to guide us every day.
From day one, Stout Roofing built a reputation for expertise in a variety of roofing systems, especially concrete tile and re-roofs. Our headquarters in St. George naturally positioned us to serve nearby Nevada communities like Mesquite, Logandale, and Overton, as well as northern Arizona towns such as Page and Fredonia. We also have a location in Cedar City, Utah, allowing us to serve all of Iron County and the many rural communities along Highway 89.
In 2018, after visiting family in Arizona and seeing homeowners waiting as long as eight months for roof repairs, we expanded into Mesa. With deep roots in the Phoenix Valley, we felt called to offer a better option. What started with residential repairs has grown into a thriving branch with a skilled team serving both homeowners and commercial clients.
In 2022, we extended our reach in Nevada, bringing much-needed service to Lincoln County towns such as Panaca and Ely.
The following year, we launched our own solar division. After years of frustrations with unreliable solar companies that failed to honor their commitments, we decided to do things differently—offering a trustworthy, community-based solar solution backed by our proven roofing expertise. This expansion allows us to deliver complete, high-quality solutions under one roof.
By 2024, customers with properties in Tucson and Las Vegas were requesting our services there as well. While we don't yet have physical offices in those cities, our crews are active in both markets daily, and we're working toward establishing permanent locations.
One thing that truly sets us apart: we employ all of our own crews. We're not a sales company that subs out the work. Every roofer, installer, and sheet metal fabricator works directly for Stout Roofing. This ensures better quality, faster timelines, and full accountability from start to finish. We're also fully licensed and insured—so our customers know their property is protected.
We also operate a full-service metal shop, allowing us to provide custom sheet metal details for any project, residential or commercial.
