Roof insurance claims
Storm + hail damage claims, documented right
After a Phoenix monsoon, an honest inspection — followed by a clean, photo-documented damage report — is what wins your insurance claim. Stout Roofing Inc performs both at no cost. We document; you (and your carrier) decide what's covered.
How the claims process works
Document the damage
After a storm passes, take ground-level photos of debris, interior leaks, and any visible roof issues. Note the date + time. Don't go on the roof yourself — wet tile + asphalt is the leading source of fall injuries in residential roofing.
Start your claim with your insurer
Call your carrier's claims line within 48 hours of the event. You'll get a claim number + adjuster assignment. Your policy may specify a deadline for damage reporting; don't wait past it.
Free professional inspection
Stout Roofing Inc performs a thorough roof + attic inspection at no cost. We use drone imagery on tile + steep-pitch roofs, hands-on for shingle + low-slope. Every finding is photographed with location reference.
Photo-documented damage report
You receive a written report with photos, locations, severity ratings, and recommended scope. Forward it to your adjuster — most carriers accept it directly, and it helps the adjuster work faster.
Adjuster site visit (typically)
Most carriers send an adjuster to verify the damage. We're happy to meet your adjuster on site to walk them through what we documented. This is where claim outcomes are usually decided.
Schedule the repair
Once approved, we schedule the work to match your insurance scope. You pay your deductible directly; the rest comes from the claim payout. We provide a detailed invoice for your records.
What we don't do — and why that matters
Arizona law (ARS § 32-1158) restricts roofing contractors from negotiating with insurance carriers on a homeowner's behalf — that's public-adjuster work and requires a separate license we don't hold (and most roofers don't either).
What that means in practice: we document, we recommend, we provide reports. You talk to your carrier. You decide whether to accept the settlement.
If a roofer offers to "handle your claim" or "guarantee approval" — that's the warning sign. Honest contractors document and let you make the call.
